Ethiopian Inaugurate Flight Lands At New Nekemte Gudina Tumsa Airport
Ethiopian Airlines has launched new airport airfield Nekemte, Gudina Tumsa Airport and flight routes weekly thrice for passenger in the airport. Gudina Tumsa Airport is a newly inaugurated airport in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. Ethiopian Airlines expand its domestic networks to 31 from the current 23 by 2035. Upgrading domestic airports and aviation facilities to offer more extended and advanced flight services across the country. The newly completed airport facility is part of Ethiopian Airlines goal in advancing the socio-economic and cultural interrelation between Ethiopian cities and beyond. Ethiopian flight make domestic and global markets accessibility of agricultural products which Nekemte and its surrounding areas are known for coffee and fruits production.
Cost: The airport project cost 1.1 billion Ethiopian Birr (ETB).
Runway: Boeing 737-800 MAX aircraft type, while the apron can park two Boeing 737-800 MAX or four Q400 aircrafts at a time.
