How to file an airline complaint to The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) if airline does not give a proper response?

Before making the complaint, write a report to the airline directly onlineĀ and wait for 30 days to reply. After that you can submit the complaint through The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) for the proper response.

  1. You can submit the complaint online
  2. Click yes or no if you have contacted the airline
  3. If yes, you are required to submit the proof (digital copies, screenshots / photo proof of email / online complaint form / confirmation message received from the airline)
  4. Upload the document
  5. Describe your issues
  6. Enter the flight and booking details
  7. Enter the personal details, contact details
  8. Review the application and submit the complaint

What are the deadlines / last date to file a complaint (Baggage / Flight delay / cancellation) with the airline?

File a claim with in the mentioned days

Damaged baggage: within 7 days of receiving your baggage.
Delayed baggage: within 21 days of receiving your baggage.
Lost baggage: as soon as possible. Your baggage is considered lost when it is delayed for 21 days or when the airline admits to losing the baggage before 21 days.
Flight delays/cancellations: file a request for compensation with the airline within 1 year of the delay or cancellation. The airline has 30 days to make a payment or explain why not.

  2. You can check the case by entering the number or search by contact information (Air Travel Complaints)
